Are you a fan of Irish Whiskey or you just want to see how the famous Irish spirit is created? In any case, Dublin is the right city for you, as it is home to several whiskey distilleries. Now you could walk to all of them, but luckily for you, they all are located near stops on our bus route. To give you inspiration on how to spend your day learning about Irish whiskey – or just having a great day sightseeing and stopping at one or two distilleries- here are all the bus stops for the whiskey distilleries in Dublin.
Stop 01: Irish Whiskey Museum
Start your tour at the Irish Whiskey Museum at College Green and get a comprehensive overview of Ireland’s whiskey history. Join a tour and listen to one of the fun and engaging guides, all while learning about whiskey production, history and brands. And get a taste of different whiskeys afterwards – all included in the guided tour, if you want to. Further, you can join Irish coffee classes, blending tours and now also attend an Irish whiskey cocktail workshop.
Stop 15: Jameson Distillery Bow St.
You might have heard of this whiskey long before traveling to Ireland. But why is it that famous? In bow Street, where Jameson whiskey was originally brewed, you can learn more about it. Learn what it takes to form the unique taste and try it for yourself. Find out more about the history of Jameson. And taste some of the most popular versions of this whiskey at the end of the tour. If you want to, you can also visit the distilleries shop for some souvenirs or spend some more time and try some more whiskey at the beautiful bar on the first floor.
Stop 05: Teeling Whiskey Distillery
Teeling is one of the newer distilleries in Dublin. Actually, the first new operating distillery in the city in over 125 years. It’s situated in the historic liberties area and a perfect example of the revival of Dublin’s whiskey scene and the general rise in popularity of Irish Whiskey. Here, visitors can witness the full production process of the award-winning Teeling spirits and of course also try the whiskeys for themselves.
Stop 08: Pearse Lyons Distillery
Pearse Lyons is probably the prettiest distillery you can find in the city, as it is housed in the beautifully restored 18th-century St. James’s Church. It’s also located in the Liberties. In the distillery known for its small batch production, you can also join guided tours. They provide insights into Pearse’s distillation process and end in a tasting of their most popular blends.
Stop 05: The Dublin Liberties Whiskey Distillery
Right in the vicinity of Teeling, there is another newer distillery getting recognition for its unusual and new whiskey creations. The Dublin Liberties Whiskey Distillery produces whiskey that tells the haunting and mysterious history of the Liberties. And of those tales, you’ll also learn more if you join one of their captivating guided tours.
As you can see, there are plenty of Whiskey Distilleries in Dublin. And you don’t even have to walk when you want to visit them. Just hop on one of our busses and stop whenever you want to get off for your sightseeing adventures.
