by | Mar 11, 2024 | Things to do in a day in Dublin

With many big brands, various shopping miles and even shopping arcades, there’s no doubt, that Dublin offers a lot of options to find new clothing, homeware or beauty products. However, we think that it gets interesting where it’s unusual – that’s why we present you with the best shopping opportunities away from the big shopping miles. Here are the best vintage stores and markets in Dublin.

Markets in the Liberties (Stop 5/ 7)

Established in 1973, Liberty Market belongs to the longest running markets in Dublin. Located in the Liberties, the indoor market is open from Thursday to Saturday each week. If you are looking for clothing, jewelry, flowers, accessories or food, here you will find it for a great price. Visitors also often praise the great atmosphere created by friendly vendors and relaxed shoppers.

If it’s sunny, why not go outside and visit the We Love Markets flea at the Digital Hub, taking place at the last Sunday of each month. Here, up to 55 stalls are used to sell creative designs and crafts, clothing, furniture, vintage wares, other artisan goods and more. There are even special markets for events like St. Patrick’s Day.

Second Hand Stores in Temple Bar (Stop 1/ 2/ 18)

Second-hand clothing is getting more and more popular. It’s better for the climate, but also often offers trendy vintage pieces in really good condition. There are many charity shops with clothing, homeware and accessories for everyone, all for a good price. For example, have a look for the Oxfam stores on Talbot Street or Great St. George’s Street. If you’re looking for more extravagant or vintage second-hand shops, you’ll find your match in Temple bar with stores like Badlands Vintage, Flip Clothing or Nine Crows Vintage.

Temple Bar

Designer Mart (Stop 1)

If you’re in Temple Bar on a Saturday, pop by the Designer Mart on Cow’s Lane. Here, designers and artists sell their unique creations – from jewelry to handmade knits or antique crafts. Stroll along the street on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Feel inspired by the creative designs around you and find a personal gift for a special someone or a keepsake for yourself.

The George’s Street Arcade (Stop 1/ 2)

Tucked away off the bustling George’s Street in Dublin’s city center, the George’s Street Arcade is one of the city’s oldest and most beloved markets in Dublin. Housed in a beautiful Victorian building, this indoor market is a labyrinth of stalls. Vendors sell everything from vintage clothing and handmade jewelry to artisan crafts and antiques. And restaurants and coffee shops top it off. Take a leisurely stroll through its narrow aisles, soak up the bohemian vibe, and discover the perfect souvenir to take home with you.

Georges Street

Moore Street Market (Stop 18)

In the northern part of inner city, one of the oldest markets in Dublin takes place each Friday and Saturday on Moore Street. With its vendors typical street cries – there even is a Moore Street accent – the market can be heard from streets away. Here, you cannot only buy fresh fruits and vegetables for your meals. Also artisan goods from small businesses, including candles, jewelry, vintage clothing or art prints are sold. Street food like crepes or Indian dishes round down your experience on Moore Street Market. Many of the stalls on Moore Street are actually there all week, even when they aren’t used.

Temple Bar Food Market (Stop 1)

Back again in Temple Bar! The old town of Dublin offers only the best for market lovers – and for foodies. Each Saturday from 9.30 am to 4 pm the Temple Bar Food Market takes place on Meeting House Square. Local vendors offer high quality goods and artisan food.
